Justin, I was going to create a new topic for this post but I've been getting an error all day. Anyways, here's the post. If you want to move it to a new Vegas Activities thread, have at it...

I've made my way through a 3-yr old, 36-page Vegas thread on a Miami Hurricanes football forum. Some posters travel to Vegas a lot; others live there. I put more stock in what these guys suggest than any tour guide book, concierge, or cab driver. Here is the website and below are the suggestions that I found in no particular order: http://mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=13&f=2936&t=4620610&p=1

Best day trip is Valley of Fire. It is well worth the hour drive. Red Rock Canyon has to many tourists.

Strip clubs: Little Darlings - Full nude, good looking girls; Sapphire's - Largest place, topless only; Rhino - Topless only again; OG - Topless

Dining: Holy crap, so much to choose from for every budget. My picks: Breakfast - Le Village buffet at Paris is fuh-nominal. French and American breakfast items available; Lunch - Big fan of CPK at Mirage. But honestly, take your pick. So many cafe's and buffets. Dinner - I haven't tried any nice dinner places, but I have some on my list. For Seafood, I'm looking at Aquaknox at Venetian. For a steakhouse, Tender at Luxor looks killer. I've heard that N9NE at The Palms is awesome as well.

Been to OG and Rhino (stripclubs), they are pretty good. Great selection of girls, good atmosphere. Have heard good things about Little Darlings. Best All Nude place in town is the word. Haven't been to Sapphires, but it's the largest joint in town and until recently they had a pool at the Rio where their girls went to. Topless of course. It was shutdown last month due to prostitution soliciting. As for out of hotel restaurunts, right next to the AFB (Nellis) is Blueberry Hill. It's a diner, kinda like Denny's. Really good food. Wins best diner all the time. Get the Belgian Waffle, its the GOAT. But if you can, hit Le Village a Paris for breakfast. Good buffet. And it's neat. The whole thing is built like a Village. You walk down a "street" and visit different cottages and get your food. Pretty cool. One of the food places I absolutely LOVE is Hyakumi Sushi bar in Caesars Palace. If you like sushi, you've gotta visit.

Restaurants outside the hotels: Blueberry Hill is a great diner. Awesome for a late night snack or breakfast(old school waffles & pancakes) and great value. Smith & Wollensky is always very solid and is right on the strip. Cut at the Venetian is probably the best steakhouse in Vegas though. Very expensive but worth it.

Restaurants in hotels: Le Cirque and Circo at Bellagio are expensive but awesome. Cut (see above). Alex at the Wynn for romantic dinner (v expensive). Fish place at the Mandalay (just off the casino floor) has greatest Mac & Cheese (my kids love it). Social House at TI for great, reasonably priced Sushi (go around 9pm and you can see TI's pirate show on the balcony)

Activities: Take a trip to the Grand Canyon (small plane takes you to the GC and then a helicopter flies you into the canyon). Again, expensive but you should do it at least once. Boating/tubing/waterskiing on Lake Mead near Hoover Dam. Fresh water. Awesome Lake. Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay -- just do not put your hand in the Pirannha (sp) tank. Golf (Do twilight to keep the green fee down): Wynn Golf Club. Any course at Lake Las Vegas (Nicklaus course is great)

Stripclubs - Bali Hai; Spearmint rhino – goat topples; Sapphire or little darlings – goat all nude; $30 cover charges though

Hike up to the top of Mt. Charleston and back; Hike in Valley of Fire park. Best buffets are at the Rio and Bellagio. Rio = quantity, Bellagio = quality. There's one show that I recommend to all my friends--Vinnie Favorito at the Flamingo. He is an insult comic, and you will pee your pants laughing. If you're looking for Cirque du Soleil, then it won't be your cup of tea. Don't pay full price for the tickets though. There are sure to be 2-for-1 coupons in the local magazines like "Whats On."

I have compiled of list of cool shlt to do, anyone want to add something to it? Mandalay Bay: Burger Bar, Rum Jungle, Mixx; Excalibur - Dick's Jester's Bar (Beer Pong); Palms - Little Buddha,Ghostbar, 9ine Steakhouse, Rain; Bellagio - Fountains, Buffet; Mirage - Jet, Beatles Revolution Lounge, Cirque Show's, Zumanity, Beatles Love; Venetian - Tao, Gondolla; Luxor - LAX, Auroura, Liquidity; MGM Grand - Studio54; Wynn - Blush, Tryst; Ceaser's Palace - Pure; Rio - McFadden's (Beer Pong); Palazzo - Lavo, Emeril’s Stadium; Paris - Risque, Eiffel Tower View; Straosphere - Romance Lounge

JET is gay. We got in a fight with the manager because their VIP chick was a bltch. Tao, Lavo, Ghostbar, Moon and Rain are all the shlt. The Venetian has the sickest rooms. I lost a lot of money at Lagasse' stadium but it's a cool spot to bet and watch the games. (F you Jim Levitt). I made a nice hunk of cash playing Craps Ceaser's Palace and Planet Hollywood were the best spots to gamble. TheBuffet at the Wynn is how I imagine they serve lunch in Heaven. The Bilagio wasn't too shaby with their buffet either. The show Le Reve was mildy homosexual. The BlueMan Group show, which the hotel gave us free tickets too, was gayer. Beatles Love was like one giant awesome acid trip

If another illegal hands me another hooker's card I'm gonna knock their neon green shirt off

Great trip. Lots of walking. If you need any sort of supplies go to the CVS or Walgreens. Stay away from the stores in the hotel. BaLLYS room was really nice and big. We were in the North towers. To watch sports we went to Miracle Mile Shops. Blondies was very cool and good food. Huge mall with crazy ceiling..thought I was outside half the time. I think PH had the nicest looking Sports Book from the looks. I didnt gamble. We watched Sundays games at ESPN zone from the recliners which was cool. Been to the one in Atlanta. The one place I recommend from my trip is Cabo Wabo's in front of PH. Great bar. Good prices and hot hot bartenders. And a bunch of my favorite tequila's. Hawaiin Tropic bar looked cool. Went to Harrahs on Sun night..they had a cool bar outside with a good cover band, then finished up the night in the Piano Bar there. O'SHeas was a trip..I thought I was shot back to the 70's or something..all the employee's looked ancent..except for that red head lol. I took a shuttle from the airport for $6 and it took me straight to Ballys. Every where we went they had buckets of 16oz miller lites for $20..not too bad. Overall great trip. Im not as young and energetic as some of these other cats but I kept up pretty well lol. And I went to the fight...so there.

Thursday: TAO & Tryst (i prefer Tryst); Friday: XS or Moon (Lavo if you want to avoid the long lines); Saturday: Same as Friday. Avoid Pure and Prive.... Stick with the above plan and you will be happy. The Venetian is cool.

Caesar's Palace was a very good spot to gamble. I even won a small amount betting the Dolphins to win, which they did.

If you want good food at the Wynn, go to the SW Steakhouse. Their steaks are awesome.

The Bellagio, especially their slots are pretty tight.

Do dress warmly at night, because it does get chilly pretty quick. Drink lots of water there.

You see the illegals giving their hooker's card out at night more so than during the day.

The cabs are still good, however, if you want faster service, try the monorail, and its cheaper too.

Four days is not enough to see everything that there is to see in Vegas.
The MGM is NICE. (GREAT BARS)
The Monte Carlo is NICE.
The Bellagio, Venetian, Wynn and Caesar's are NICEST.
The Wynn's $36 buffet is worth it.
The Monte Carlo's $17 buffet is serviceable.
Take comfortable shoes.
The Monte Carlo has a great free tram that goes directly to the Bellagio...USE IT!
The taxi services are very organized. I made nice with one of them and he picked me up wherever I was (big no-no in Vegas). He even picked up my group of 6 (big no-no in Vegas)
24-hour food services in the Monte Carlo were very welcomed.
Mystere (Cirque) was good.
ESPN Zone in the NY, NY was excellent. (watched the debacle against Wisc. there)
I collected the "hooker cards" that the illegals were passing out. I had a collection of them in my room as if they were baseball cards.
I refused to pay a dollar to get in to any of their clubs. I ended up in "Tabu" in the MGM for free. Nice club. I didn't try to do any of their bigger clubs...I have South Beach in my backyard for that.
I loved Old Vegas...especially the Golden Nugget. Made out with some wins at craps there.

Stayed at The Hotel as we, a group of 7 guys, did the reservations last minute. I've stayed there before. Not a bad hotel and actually okay for a boys' trip as they have 1.5 baths in each room with a suite set-up. Rates were manageable. Would have preferred to stay in City Center because it's new and different though. We used our VIP Host that we've used in the past who is The Man out in Vegas. He hooked us up pretty big. We went to Tryst Thurs night and had a decent night. We didn't go that big on Thurs knowing that we were going to blow it up on Friday and Sat. Friday, we went to eat at Cut Steakhouse. I thought it was good but not great. I had the Wagyu and probably spent a little over $ 300 on dinner. It's definitely not as good as Boa or SW's Steakhouse IMO. I've eaten at a few others like Craftsteak, Charlie Palmer's, and Prime, and I thought this was in that category IMO. If you ask me, the best one is SW's steakhouse. I had Japanese Ohmi there which is a cut above their traditional wagyu and is only sold at 2 steakhouses in America- SW's and a place in NYC ($35/ ounce though). Incredible. We then went to XS and absolutely blew up the spot. Our host got us the best table in the place and we partied like a rap video. Table probably cost us a bit over 4 Gs, but it was well worth it. An absolutely epic night and one for the ages. Sat, we toned down dinner and ate Mexican at Isla which wasn't bad. It was inexpensive which was nice. We then had our host set us up at Haze. We didn't wait 1 second in line, were escorted to the very front of the VIP line, and brought in where we had another amazing table. Snoop was there that night and probably was no more than 10 feet from us. Another crazy and wild night. We were good because we had another great table, but it was very expensive- about 7K. IMO, Haze doesn't hold a candle to XS. Great night but not as good as Friday. XS >>>> Haze. Recommend using a host if you go with a bunch of guys.

Stay in City Center if you haven't before. A lot of action there and new, so it's worth staying and looking around if you've "been there and done that" on the strip before.

Attention anyone that visits Vegas frequently, if you've never gotten a players card because you just don't gamble that much, now you get points for non gambling purchases such as resturants and shops owned by the company. With Harrah’s, 1 point for every dollar spent in non gambling purchases such as at stores and restaurants in its casinos. (Retailers and other attractions in attached venues not owned by the company, such as the Forum Shops at Caesars, don’t accept Total Rewards cards.) Las Vegas Sands updated its Grazie program to allow members to earn points by charging purchases at stores as well as meals, drinks and entertainment to their rooms. Customers can use points to advance through tiers and access bigger discounts, comps and upgrades. Customers can’t use these points to buy meals or make other nongambling purchases, however. MGM is gonna redo their program to follow suit. So basically present your card anywhere and everywhere until someone says they don’t accept it. Their free and only takes a few minutes to sign up.

Flew in Saturday and drove to Hoover Dam...
-hamburger at MGM Grand (went on the tram, back to Treasure Island for Cirque De Soleiul "Mystere" which kind of sucked compared to other Cirques
-sunday drove to Grand Canyon West Rim, got a 225 ticket in a speed trap at Dolan Springs, AZ very cool to see the Grand Canyon though
-Bellagio water exhibition
-Bellagio flower display
-Ceasars Palace conference halls for two days. business event at their pool. walked the entire stip back to Convention Center so stopped in Encore, Wynn, Venetian.
-drove from Las Vegas to Los Angeles- highly recommend.

Just spent Memorial Weekend out there (MGM), best time I've ever had. If you're into the pool parties, I strongly recommend Wet Republic. More hotties in one spot than I've ever seen. Going back in late July.

Don't Choose the Cheapest Buffet in Town - "Full Las Vegas buffet for $11 with over 50 items" sounds almost too good to be true, right? Well, it is. How is the food? Here is the opinion of one Web reviewer: "The 'scrambled eggs' seemed to be made of water and reconstituted egg yolk which had separated after sitting in the bin." And that's not all. The buffet referenced above (which shall remain nameless) serves thousands of people a day, which means that not only can it get crowded, but it can also be teaming with kids. Kids are awesome and all, but a room full of hungry kids on vacation and a bit of a hangover don't always mix. Instead: The Wynn's buffet is incredible. Or if you want classic-yet-cheap, try the Flamingo. Another option? Denny's is right across the street. 300 a day is good if you plan on mainly visiting free stuff, eating, and maybe hitting a club and getting a few drinks. Save money by getting the Harrah's buffet pass. $34.99, all you can eat for 24 hrs at any harrah's buffet. Comes out to a little less than $12 a meal if you eat three times, less if you add a 4th meal in there.

Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon aka, the Barbary Coast. Right in the middle of the strip, 3x cleaner than the Imperial Palace, and inexpensive.

Best sports bar - Wynn or Caesars or MGM
Best club - XS (haven't been to Marquee but going day after tomorrow) TAO sucks if you don't have a table.
Best restaurant - SW Steakhouse in the Wynn
Best pool - Anywhere at the Wynn or Encore. If you are in to "pool parties", you can't go wrong at the MGM.
