Date Posted: 11/24/2012 5:57:37 PM Subject: Snake League Statistical Nonsense
Perused through the ESPN historical standings data and compiled some useless information (*****does not include year #1 of TFTF Snake League*****). It means nothing, just an observation that I did instead of working (as a result I am working tomorrow).
2 players have never had a losing season (the Myerworths);
1 person has not yet had a winning season (Mo);
>1400 points in a season has been accomplished 10 times (Matt - 4, Ed W - 2, Jared - 1, Justin - 1, Pat - 1, Ed F - 1);
<1000 points in a season has been accomplished once (Josh - 958);
Each season's highest total score has increased each year (1429 - Matt, 1445 - Pat, 1448 - Matt, 1457 - Justin), and this year's leader needs 156 points to continue the trend;
Consistency Ranking - draw your own conclusions - calculations based on difference in total wins each year (i.e, 3 wins, then 8 wins, then 2 wins = 5 win difference + 6 win difference = 11 win difference)
3 - Jared, Justin
4 - Mo
6 - Andy
7 - Matt
8 - Josh, Jerry
9 - Ed F
10 - Ted, Pat
11 - Ed W, Doug
Best Turn Around Season: 5 more wins (Josh, Ed W, Doug)
Worst Turn Around Season: 7 less wins (Pat, Jerry)
Best Single Season Record All-time: 12-1 (Matt), 11-2 (Pat), 10-3 (Justin, Ed F)
Worst Single Season Record All-time: 2-11 (Doug, Andy, Jerry), 3-10 (Josh, Mo, Andy)
Individual Win Difference Between Best and Worst Season Record All-time (i.e, your best season win total minus your worst):
2 - Jared, Mo
3 - Justin
4 - Matt
5 - Ed W, Ted, Josh, Andy, Ed F, Doug
7 - Pat, Jerry

I don't think we'll see another 12-1 or 2-11 season in awhile.
