They may have been doing maintenance on it. It could have been just some douchebag taking a picture and trying to get in the paper. Wouldn't surprise me, but it would be awesome if that string hit. Can you imagine the crowd that would have gathered around?

I calculate the chances of hitting the same number 7 times in a row to be one in 78 trillion; much more than 3 billion to one. 78,364,164,096 to be exact.
