There are a ton of old buildings in East Liverpool that have 3-4 floors plus a basement. These building are very cheap because entrepreneurs don't want to update the plumbing, electricity, elevators, floors, etc. I believe you can pick up one of these building for like $40k.

My idea is we buy one of these buildings and renovate it to have an apartment on each floor. We make these apartments somewhat "high class" so they will draw a decent rent. We put in a nice elevator in which each stop is someone's apartment.

Some of the problems with this idea are funding and the demand for high rent apartments. I think this would be a good middle ground for someone who doesn't want to buy a house but also doesn't want to rent a smaller standard apartment. There would even be the possibility of selling each apartment.

You must have been drunk or full of hate to think of this idea. wanting people to needlessly spend time in East Liverpool.

Maybe we can drive out all the denizens and annex it to Chester.

I like this; if by chance the city would happen to drive any new business into the town I would not hesitate to invest in this idea. Thats a huge if though.

I like the idea of buying commercial property, not so much turning it into studio apartments. Buying real estate is rarely a bad investment, even in east liverpool.
